Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and core the apples using a veggie peeler and knife.
- Wrap each apple with the dough, stuffing with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Baking
- Place the wrapped apples in a buttered baking dish.
- Pour the soda around the apples, then sprinkle with more cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and the sauce is bubbling.
Serving
- Serve warm, ladled with syrup from the baking dish over the dumplings.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
These dumplings can be assembled ahead of time and chilled, baked just before serving. Leftovers can be frozen and reheated in the oven.
